Coming Soon: Expanded Access to Expert Orthopedic Care in Exeter and Plaistow

Beginning January 1, 2027, Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine will expand access to orthopedic services through a strategic affiliation with Exeter Hospital and its Plaistow location, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH). This partnership will include 24/7 orthopedic trauma coverage for Exeter Hospital’s Emergency Department and the development of a comprehensive spine program offering both surgical and outpatient services.

Since 1987, Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine has served the New Hampshire Seacoast and Southern Maine, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to provide specialized orthopedic care closer to home for our patients in Exeter, Plaistow, and surrounding communities.

Orthopedic Specialists Across Multiple Disciplines

Our team brings advanced training in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, spine care, and pain management. This depth of expertise helps patients receive care tailored to their specific needs and goals, whether they’re dealing with an injury, chronic pain, or another musculoskeletal condition. Our providers offer preventive, nonsurgical, and surgical treatment, with a focus on finding the most effective, least invasive path to relief.

A Coordinated Approach to Orthopedic Treatment and Recovery

Excellent orthopedic care begins with listening carefully to understand how pain or injury affects your life. Your treatment goals may involve returning to a sport or just resuming daily activities again without pain. With a team known for clinical excellence and a patient-first approach, Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine offers comprehensive care — from diagnosis through treatment and recovery.

Our affiliation with Exeter Hospital builds on that foundation, with a shared commitment to enhancing the overall patient experience and coordinating services across the course of treatment. Our partnership will strengthen access to:

  • Orthopedic evaluation and diagnosis
  • Subspecialty treatment options
  • Advanced surgical care
  • Coordinated physical therapy, rehabilitation and follow-up care

“By joining forces with Atlantic Orthopaedics, we will create the premier orthopedic and musculoskeletal program in the region,” says Debra Cresta, president of Exeter Hospital.

24/7 Orthopedic Trauma Coverage at Exeter Hospital

A serious injury can happen at any time. Our partnership will provide dedicated 24/7 orthopedic trauma coverage for Exeter Hospital’s Emergency Department, supporting patients who need urgent orthopedic evaluation and treatment. This coverage is an important part of strengthening local emergency care and connecting patients with orthopedic expertise when they need it.

A Comprehensive Spine Program for the Exeter Region

Back and neck pain affect nearly 80% of Americans at some point in their lives, and can interfere with work, sleep, exercise, and overall quality of life. Our affiliation with Exeter Hospital includes the creation of a dedicated spine program, which will expand the region’s resources for patients with spine conditions and support access to specialized evaluation and treatment. Developing these services within a coordinated program will give patients in Exeter and Plaistow a local destination for everything from conservative spine care to surgical intervention when needed.

Strengthening Orthopedic Care Across the Seacoast

The partnership between Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and Exeter Hospital is an investment in the future of orthopedic care throughout the Seacoast region. By combining our team’s specialized expertise with Exeter Hospital’s established hospital services and connection to Beth Israel Lahey Health, we aim to expand access to care and strengthen treatment options for local patients.

We are committed to a thoughtful transition in the months ahead, focused on continuity of care, clear communication, and a seamless patient experience. Updates will be shared as additional details are finalized. Have questions in the meantime? Contact us
