We are seeking Medical Assistant with Orthopedic experience for our expanding practice!

In this position you will be performing both clinical and clerical tasks, under the direct supervision of the Orthopedic Clinical Manager, Physicians and Physician Assistants.

Clinical duties include: Orthopedic wound care, casting, splinting, taking and recording medical histories in the EHR system, preparing patients for examination, cast and/or suture and staple removal, drawing up medications for administration by the physicians or PA’s.

Clerical responsibilities include: scheduling appointments, telephone triage, e-prescribing prescriptions, faxing prior authorizations, referrals, scanning, and maintaining EHR.

Skills and abilities: Experience in orthopedic care, Casting & Splinting Skills along with Wound Care Professional attitude, appearance, customer service skills, attention to detail and knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Must have the ability to multi-task along with excellent written and verbal communication skills both written and verbal.

Atlantic Orthopedic and Sports medicine is seeking an part time or fulltime X-Ray Technologist to join our team.

This position will be supplementing our current imaging department which currently serves 16 providers with more in the near future.

Hours can be flexible but always based on current practice needs.

Our facility includes 2 full digital x-ray suites for imaging.

All candidates must be licensed in NH.

The job of the radiographer at AOSM is to provide high quality x-rays for each of the providers while they are in clinic seeing patients. It is the x-ray tech’s responsibility to take the appropriate views for each provider according to their specific preferences. This includes new patients, follow-up patients and post-operative patients.

Radiology or X-Ray certification required

Job Responsibilities

· Transcribe medical reports, summaries, office visit notes and other medical documents from recorded messages from health care providers

· Provide online copies of transcribed document to physicians or other providers for review and signature, making corrections or changes as noted

· Be familiar with proper grammar, spelling and sentence structure as well as medical jargon and abbreviations for accuracy

· Prepare correspondence, summaries, research and other administrative reports not directly related to patient care in order to assist medical team

· Work with transcription equipment that can include speech recognition equipment, word processing and computer software, medical references and other technologies

· Maintain strict adherence to patient confidentiality according to provider standards and government regulations

· Review transcription documents for quality assurance and precision to spot and correct any errors that could impact patient care and medical liability

· Create templates and enter data into electronic health record (EHR) systems for updated record keeping and archives

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

· High school diploma or GED

Working on-site (not a remote position)

· Proficiency with EHR, Microsoft Office and speech recognition software

· Ability to type 90 WPM

    • Answer the telephone within 3 rings using a friendly/professional demeanor
    • Manage some patient scheduling
    • Prepare and enter all new patient registrations, meeting daily deadlines
    • Verify accurate patient insurance coverage and inform the patient/clinician
    • Obtain appropriate authorization for patient visits, track and stay current and communicate to the patient and clinician as needed.
    • Appropriately prepare and submit paperwork for patient billing
    • Collect co-payments as required
