Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a Director of RCM

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Cycle Oversight: Lead the end-to-end revenue cycle including charge capture, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and patient collections.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Drive AR performance metrics, reduce aging, and improve collection rates across payers and patients.
  • Claims and Denials: Oversee timely and accurate claims submission; monitor denial trends and implement strategies for appeal and prevention.
  • Contract Negotiation: Evaluate and negotiate payer contracts, fee schedules, and out-of-network agreements to optimize reimbursement.
  • Payer Relations & Rate Analysis: Monitor payer performance, rate changes, and market trends; perform impact analysis of rate adjustments.
  • Financial Reporting, Dashboards & P&L Oversight: Develop and maintain financial and operational dashboards to monitor KPIs such as DSO, denial rate, collection yield, and reimbursement variances. Provide leadership with revenue-related insights and maintain oversight of the Profit and Loss (P&L) statements to ensure financial health and strategic alignment.
  • Budgeting / Forecasting: Collaborate with leadership to develop revenue-related budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Out-of-Network Strategy: Oversee billing and reimbursement for out-of-network services; evaluate impact and opportunities for improvement.
  • Compliance & Industry Monitoring: Stay current on regulatory changes, reimbursement policies, and best practices within healthcare RCM (MGMA, CMS, AAOE)
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Work directly with department managers in billing, patient accounts, and workers compensation, provide ongoing training and support, and collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to ensure optimal revenue capture. Lead projects like the implementation of a new claim submission dashboard.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of RCM operations, billing, coding (CPT/ICD-10), and payer contract negotiation.
  • Proven experience with data analytics, financial reporting, and revenue optimization strategies.
  • Experience working with orthopaedic or specialty medical practices is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and billing software
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking an Athletic Trainer / Orthopaedic Technician

 

Position Requirements

Licenses or Certificates: One of the following is required.

  • Athletic Trainer (ATC)
  • OTC Athletic Trainer
  • Orthopedic Tech

 

Job Responsibilities

The tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Welcome and escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring their comfort and readiness for the physician.
  • Conduct interviews with patients to gather their medical history, measure vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Collect and organize relevant reports and radiological results to prepare accurate patient charts.
  • Provide assistance during treatments, including the removal of sutures and staples, preparation of injections, instruments, and materials.
  • Casting and splinting.
  • Administer medications as directed by the physician and offer clear explanations of treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians’ instructions to patients.
  • Facilitate medication refills through e-prescription systems and communicate prescription details to pharmacies under authorized directives.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies to maintain hygienic standards.
  • Educate patients on the use of durable medical equipment (DME) as needed.
  • Perform various clerical duties, including scheduling appointments, participating in phone triage, faxing prior authorizations and referrals, and managing electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.

  • 1+ years of experience in medical scheduling or a comparable role is required.
  • Physically present and on site at SMAO required

  • Listens to and addresses patient complaints related to appointment scheduling, aiming for resolution.

Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is current seeking an experienced orthopedic PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT in our Portsmouth, NH location. This position will work mainly with our spine physician. Experience is desired having a mixture of clinic, OR Coverage, and ER Consults.

The primary goal of the PA is to facilitate the Practice in providing complete patient care in accordance with current state guidelines and hospital policies. The PA in the following tasks will facilitate each physician by:

A) Hospital responsibilities 

1. Attending to patients in the emergency room

2. Admitting patients (H&Ps, ordering and interpreting lab values, orders and progress notes

3. Patient consultations

4. Assist the surgeon the operating room

5. Assist the staff with room set up and turnover

6. Complete post-op orders and brief op notes

7. In-patient rounding (assist patient progress, check lab values, speak with PT/OT/Nursing, complete daily progress notes and orders, apply casts and braces)

8. Educate patients and family

9. Act as a liaison between the nursing staff and MDs

10. Work with D/C planners to coordinate home care and transfers to rehab facilities

11. Complete paperwork and D/C summaries at the time of patient D/C or transfer

B. Office Responsibilities

1. Evaluation, diagnosing and formulating treatment plans of new patients

2. Continuing treatment of current patients in non-operative course

3. Pre-operative H&Ps including patient and family education and dictating notes on hospital lines

4. Post-operative visits including interpretation of x-rays

5. Communication between physicians and patients/family members by returning messages

6. Medication refills

7. Communicate with other MDs (primary care and specialist), PTs and OTs

8. Liaison between the MDs and the office staff

9. Uphold current CMEs, licensing and memberships in professional organizations

C. Call Responsibilities

1. Rounding on in-patients

2. PAs must be available for: a) Consultations b) Emergency room visits c) Assisting in the operating room. d. Returning phone calls from patients, and healthcare providers
